Monthly Fixed Charge
A static monthly fee charged that covers costs we incur while performing billing, administration and maintenance.
System Improvement Fee
Over time our infrastructure (meters, regulators, pipe, etc.) wears down. We are required to keep a reserve fund in place so that we can regularly maintain, repair and replace infrastructure as needed as well as to adhere to utility compliance policy.
Gas Cost
Our gas is purchased from Gas Alberta who purchases on the futures market. The gas rate is not marked up by us, we charge the rate at which it was purchased.
Co-op Operating Rate
A consumption based rate fee we charge for operating costs. The funds collected go towards paying our staff, paying for fuel, vehicle and equipment maintenance, inventory, etc. Costs incurred during operation and maintenance.

Federal Fuel Charge
The Federal Fuel Charge puts a price per tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions for home heating fuels. Rates increase on April 1 of each year as the federal government increases the carbon price by $10 per tonne a year. This charge is required by the Federal Government and NO portion of it is kept by utilities providers.
GST
The goods and services tax (GST) is a tax that you must pay on most goods and services sold or provided in Canada. These funds go to the Federal government. As of 2023 GST is 5%.

Did you know?
Our service area is over 900 square miles!? From service areas encompassing Hardisty, to Irma , all the way over Bruce, down to Heisler/Daysland and back over to the Lougheed area.
It spans over THREE counties. This means a lot of driving which results in higher fuel costs!
